Carol, you are so very brave for sharing your story. And thanks for posting this video - I had mixed feelings though... As a lesbian (Britt's partner, it's me, Marissa; hello!) one of my first, although very terrible thoughts, was 'well that's what I'm going to have to go through. And no, it's not fair, but it's life...' Although I would not wish it upon anyone. I do understand it's different when procreating is something a man and a woman were built to do, so when it goes wrong I'm sure it feels confusing and becomes very hard to deal with.
I don't know if you're a country fan, but the Dixie Chicks wrote a song on their album Taking The Long Way called 'So Hard'. It's a beautiful song about two of the member's infertility problems. I think you might like it... anyways, thank you for sharing your journey. I appreciate your courage.
Thanks Marissa! I didn't even know Britt read this blog; let alone you. And sure, it's a little different, when something that's biologically 'supposed' to happen, doesn't seem to.. but I completely get the similarity of what we may have to accept or cope with. And I'll definitely check out that song. Thanks for the feedback =)
